Stephen's Islay and Jura Walking Pictures

In yesterday's Islay Blogging Roundup #23 I mentioned Becky's Islay Coastal Walk with her latest walk from Coillabus to Beinn Mhor. She had two pictures in her entry and I also mentioned my own pictures of a walk on The Oa to Beinn Mhór. Writing that paragraph reminded me of Stephen Holman's picture which I had discovered recently. He seems to do quite a lot of walking if his Walks, Cycle Rides and Holidays in 2007 are anything to go by. In particular he visited Islay, Jura also Gigha in October 2007:

To start with the picture set I had to think of when writing the entry yesterday: On a beautiful sunny October Sunday Stephen went for a walk on The Oa and to Beinn Mhór. Lovely views of the cliffs and the American Monument.

Staying on Islay a few pictures of a walk through Bridgend Woods with some nice shots of the woodlands

Moving on to the neighbouring islands there are 42 pictures of a walk on Jura, mainly covering the three Paps of Jura. Not as good weather as during the walk on The Oa, but the occasional clouds were still mostly keeping away from the summits. Some brilliant views over Jura, Islay and also to Colonsay. I quite like that you can spot the lighthouse on this view of the north of Islay (even easier when you go large or even gigantic). I'll let you find the picture where you can spot Bunnahabhain distillery...

I've only been to the Isle of Gigha once, back in April 2002. That was a fairly grey and dull day, looking at Stephen's pictures from his walk on Gigha in October 2007 I think I should visit again. Great views of Islay and Jura, not to forget the evening ferry.
