Islay Snow and Hotel Pictures

Sometimes something that brings a little smile on your face comes soon after something that causes you concern. Today was one of those days. Earlier this evening I had to deal with something that causes me some concern. To take my mind of it for a while I started to look at some recent pictures of the new Islay Hotel in Port Ellen, thinking about writing an entry with them. While I was doing that another mail came in, which somehow brought a smile to my face. It might not mean much to others, but somehow this view of the snow covered Paps of Jura seen from Bowmore on Islay brought a smile to my face:

Earlier today I had seen another picture of the snow on the Paps of Jura: Muasdale Reports: Snow. Both views are lovely, although I'm biased towards the view from Islay. I just love this view of the Paps on the horizon at the top of Loch Indaal, be it from Bowmore, be it from Port Charlotte.

Still would like to also share two of the hotel pictures though:

I'm told that the weather wasn't very helpful for building work last week, but they still made some progress. If you compare it to last week's pictures you'll notice that the concrete layer now covers the whole floor. I'm not sure if it is just the perspective, but it looks amazingly big in the picture above, don't you think?

The walls at the gable ends have now reached next floor height, some really good progress well within schedule:

That's all I have for today, I'm off to bed to catch up on some sleep. Good night.
