Russian Islay Whisky Video

Most people probably associate Vodka with Russia, not whisky. However, over the last couple of years an increasing number of Russians have visited Scotland and Islay. One of them is Andrey Antonov, who filmed a report about Islay and whisky for the Russian 3 Channel / Moskovia. This is how it sounded in the original:

Now I suspect the vast majority of my readers, like me, doesn't understand a single word of Russian (well, may be one or two). Luckily help is at hand, there is an English version of the ‘Whisky. 3 channel’ video available as well.

Quite a few familiar faces from most of the distilleries on Islay, talking about what they do best, distilling and maturing whisky. Well presented by Andrey and his team, Sergey Nadezhdin and Mihail N (sp?). It sounds like they really enjoyed their stay on Islay (despite the quite wet weather they had during their days on the island).

Now I just need a Russian speaker to tell me how to say ‘Slainte’ in Russian. According to this page ‘How to say cheers / slainte in different countries’ nobody in Russia says ‘Na zdorovje’...
