Islay and Other Flickr Finds
The Flickr photosharing site is often an excellent source for Islay or Islay related pictures. When Ron recently blogged about What happened to The Sound of Islay Ferry I was able to point out a very recent picture of the Sound of Islay ferry by Fudged on Flickr I had spotted. Here are a few more Islay (or in some way Islay related) pictures on Flickr I found recently:
You might remember Colin Boyle and his picture of Islay seen from Rathlin Island. He's recently added a few more great pictures: In his picture of Inishtrahull Lighthouse you can spot Islay, Jura and Colonsay in the distance, I recommend the original size for the best view. Just stunning is Port Ellen, Islay from Rathlin Island, I hadn't thought that possible. Then there's Isles of Gigha and Cara , Scotland taken from Ireland. Closer to home there's the American Monument, Mull of Oa, Islay, Scotland in some very nice light.
Adriana has a number of Islay paintings, mainly of beach scenes. This one of the Big Strand quite nicely captures the far views on this beach. The mood at Loch Gorm is also very nice. Leaving Islay we can enjoy a Jura Evening.
I'm quite sure I've mentioned glenfinlas before, her recent pictures include Bowmore morning, formation grazing and garden visitor.
No direct connection to Islay I'm aware of, but I believe several of you will be interested in Rónán McLaughlin's pictures. Simple reason being that he's mainly taking great pictures of birds, some of which can also be seen on Islay at times.
