Friday Islay Picture #100 - Wreck at Kilchoman Beach

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

So there we are, it's Friday evening and time for the Friday Islay picture. However, this week is not just any Friday Islay picture, but a bit of a special one. For it is number 100. The 100th picture I'm posting since starting the series more than two years ago with the Friday Islay Picture (1). Back then I had no idea where the journey would take me, let alone that I would take it to three digits. Here's the one I picked for this occasion:

Picture of a wreck on a beach, high cliffs in the background, all under a brilliant blue sky

It's obviously the wreck on Kilchoman Beach, one of my favourite places on Islay, so I keep returning to it. The wide open space, framed by the high crags and hills in the south and the dunes in the east. The sea coming into Machir Bay from the west. The colours, the green of the hills, the blue of the sky, the golden yellow of the beach, the white and turquoise of the water. I think you get the point.

As usual I will post the larger version (larger as in more than twice as big) on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning. It's also where you can find my favourite view of the October Sunrise over Kilchoman Beach, Machir Bay, Isle of Islay.

I think that's all I want to say today. I'm off to enjoy another wee dram of the Bruichladdich Octomore. Have a great weekend!
