Autumn Impressions from Islay and Ardkinglas
If you were expecting some kind of Halloween posting today I'm afraid you won't find much here. Instead I'm going to entertain (or bore) you with a few autumn pictures from Islay and Ardkinglas Gardens on the way to Islay. Earlier today I posted a few pictures of autumn at the Kennet and Avon Canal on my other blog, so I thought I continue with the theme on this blog:

With not many trees with leaves on Islay (apart from in Bridgend Woods and a few areas in the south and east of Islay) I didn't see too much autumn colours on Islay, but then again I also didn't look very hard. Nevertheless I did spot the ones above in Bridgend Woods. These trees next to the River Sorn had already lost all their leaves:

On the way to Islay two weeks ago I stopped at Ardkinglas Gardens where I enjoyed a fabulous walk with some very nice autumn colours. The autumn light in the woodlands was beautiful:

Later in the afternoon I was treated to this sunset from one of the viewpoints over to Loch Fyne:

I hope this treat was good enough for you and you're not going to play any tricks for not having a Halloween post today…
