Slideshow of the Wreck of the Tuscania, sunk off Islay

Islay on Video written in stencil

The disasters of the HMS Otranto and HMS Tuscania in Islay waters towards the end of World War I in 1918 generate a lot of interest to this day. Over the weekend I came across several YouTube videos about diving expeditions to the wrecks of both ships: davemdive started to upload videos of the Badlads diving visit to Islay including this video of a diving the wreck of the Otranto. As I think he's still uploading further videos I'm holding off blogging about them in detail for now. Today I'm going to show you a slideshow of a deep water diving expedition to the wreck of the Tuscania and how it links to Islay instead:

YouTube: Tuscania - Legend of the deep

The probably most detailed website about the sinking of the Tuscania is S.S. Tuscania - An American History, tons of resources here. A more detailed report of the deep sea diving expedition to the wreck of the Tuscania shown in the video can be found on Divernet - An American history.

I hope you found the slideshow interesting, I'm planning to revisit the videos of the Badlads diving visit to Islay later this week or next week.
