A Video Introduction to Islay's Kilchoman Distillery
Having a rather busy and exhausting week in the office at the moment, so it's quite nice to just sit back and enjoy a few Islay videos in the evenings at the moment. Last week I mentioned the videos currently being uploaded to the SingleMaltTv YouTube account. Today I came across the first of three about Islay's youngest distillery, Kilchoman:

Very interesting to watch, also quite scary to hear about the costs involved. Certainly requires a lot of courage to build a new distillery without some big corporate backing, knowing that your first real revenue will be several years away. And even that isn't necessarily certain as you can't really fully predict how the whisky will turn out and what the whisky community will make of it.
So far I think the reviews have been largely very positive (I quite like the 3yo Spring release 2010 I've got a bottle of), so it will be fascinating to follow the developments. Having taken the plunge and bought the ‘5yo futures’ four years ago I'm certainly looking forward to their release next summer.
The video above is the first part of three, the other two parts have been uploaded as well. But as it's late and I need to get to bed I'll leave these for some other time. Good night.
