Port Ellen Pier Works, Islay

Running a bit late today (was upgrading my video editing software earlier to hopefully present you a few new Islay videos soon), so the Islay Hotel Port Ellen update I had hoped to bring today will have to wait a day or two. Instead just a few quick pictures from the pier upgrade work in Port Ellen I took on Saturday, a fairly grey day:

The old warehouse is now gone and the Calmac office is hiding behind piles of girders, containers, fences and other building materials. The huge crane (I believe the largest ever seen on Islay?) is dominating the scene. Here's an attempt of a quick panorama (sorry for the distortion):

At the moment most of the work seems to focus on the side where the barley boat usually berthes, driving in the metal sheetings. From what I understand they are within plan, although the barley boat regularly blocking the berth isn't necessarily helping.
