Islay Pipe Band 4th in Grade 3A at Worlds

Islay Music in stencil

It feels like only yesterday that I posted Islay Pipe Band - Grade 3A European Champions, yet this is more than two weeks ago already. With the celebrations over the band moved on to their next challenge last weekend, the World Championships in Glasgow. I have to take a slight risk here as there is no description with the video, but as it was posted three days after the event on the islay1011 channel I'm very confident this is the Islay Pipe Band performing in Glasgow:

While it wasn't enough to win it they improved from last years 6th place to a very good 4th place this year. You can find the detailed results on the World Championships 2011 page on the RSPBA website (scroll down to Grade 3A). If I read it correctly there were a total of 25 pipe bands competing in Grade 3A, many of them from much larger places (or organisations) than Islay.

I expect we will read more on the Islay Pipe Band news page about the event soon. It certainly looks like a very good year to me!
