Friday Islay Picture #217 - Geese over Loch Gorm

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

Right then, it's Friday evening, I'm enjoying a wee dram or two of Laphroaig Triple Wood Islay single malt and some Leysieffer vanilla chocolate. Might be a weird combination for some, but I felt like it and am now quite enjoying it. Now I just need to find a picture for you this Friday evening. May be not the greatest shot, but I still somehow like this one:

Picture of a sky full of Barnacle Geese in the Loch Gorm are of Islay

This is from the entrance to Kilchoman House Cottages, looking over to Loch Gorm and the new houses at Rockside. The air is full of Barnacle Geese which were spooked by something and seemed to be flying everywhere. I don't think the picture really does it justice, the sight, the movement, the noise. Still, I hope it at least plants something in your head. Just an idea of the view maybe.

As usual I'll post a larger version of the picture on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning. I still have to figure out the exact day, but the photoblog will have a significant jubilee some time next week. Until then, have a great weekend!
