Friday Islay Picture #227 - Early Evening in June at Saligo Bay
Sorry to be rather late again with this week's Friday Islay picture, but Tom Robinson kind of sidetracked me earlier this evening with a just fantastic Now Playing @ 6 Music show this evening, featuring a Kraftwerk theme. He even played the amazing full 22 minutes version of Autobahn live on BBC 6music, reacting to listener feedback on social media. It's kind of strange to now switch over from electronic music and Autobahnen (motorways) to the raw nature and natural beauty of Saligo Bay on Islay:
This picture is from an evening walk from Saligo Bay north in June 2011, assuming the clock in my camera was set correctly (which is unlikely) this picture was shot around 18:00 hrs BST early during the walk. The ‘Opera House Rocks’ can be seen in the distance, mild evening light illuminating the scene.
I will post a larger version of this picture on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning, hopefully showing the awesomeness of this beach even better. Until then, good night!
