Islay on Newsnight Scotland

Islay News in stencil

Again and again I'm amazed how often Islay is mentioned in the national and international news compared to many much bigger places. Of course the whisky and the pioneering renewable energy help, but Islay seems to punch well above its weight. Last night Islay was on Newsnight Scotland again, making Glenn Campbell homesick:

The visitor was Ian Hamilton (and his beautiful dog Renton), who blogs on Tales from the Dark Side and can also be found on Twitter. Ian and his team were on a tour of Scotland asking voters about what matters to them in the upcoming council elections. The final stop for them was (of course) the Island of Islay.

You can find the full Newsnight Scotland episode on the iPlayer for the next few days, the Islay part starts about 12 min in. Hopefully available a bit longer will be just the Islay bit which I found on the BBC website under Scottish council election: What matters to Islay voters.

And no, I'm not going to tell you what matters to Islay voters, you'll have to watch it yourself.

Sharing and discussing. Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
