Friday Islay Picture #250 - Colourful Dunes in Machir Bay

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

While this weekend is not a bank holiday weekend in Scotland it is one in England where this blogger lives (for now) as well as probably some of my readers. And guess what, as to be expected bank holiday weather has just arrived in West Berkshire. So I thought I need a colourful and cheerful Islay picture for this milestone edition (250 Friday Islay pictures now!), something like this:

Picture of yellow flowers on dunes above a sandy beach and wide bay

Most of you will have instantly recognised this as Machir Bay, a view from the dunes lining the beach. I'm not sure what the flowers are called, I just liked the bright yellow, the mostly blue sky and the beautiful sandy beach. The picture is from June 2012 in case you're wondering when it was taken.

As usual I will post a larger version on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning, the colours look even better in bigger. For now it's time for a wee dram (Laphroaig Triple Wood for me tonight) and wishing you a great (bank holiday if applicable) weekend. Good night!

Sharing and discussing. Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
