Another Islay from the air video, Port Charlotte

Islay on Video written in stencil

Two weeks ago I posted a new Islay from the air video of Laphroaig distillery. Back then I also promised I would edit the Port Charlotte video next. With the weather now being much colder and at times quite wet I got busy this weekend. Here's the result, my third Islay from the air video:

YouTube: Port Charlotte, Islay, with a DJI Phantom Quadcopter

This was the windiest day of the three days I managed to fly and film in June. Watch out for the washing line at the shore. Nevertheless I'm fairly happy with some of the footage I managed to get and use in this video. Provides a slightly different view of one of my favourite places on Islay.

As I'm flying on sight and don't have any FPV equipment I didn't get as close to the lighthouse as I had hoped. A 1ft x 1ft quadcopter becomes a tiny dot on the horizon rather quickly, even though from the pier to the lighthouse is only just under half a mile. May be some other time (launching from a bit further up the shore).

I hope you enjoy the video and if you live or are from Port Charlotte may be spot your house (sorry I didn't get much of the southern part, the footage just wasn't usable). My next video I'm planning to be of Saligo Bay, this time I'm thinking of combining footage filmed from the air with the quadcopter with footage filmed in the water with the waterproof case for the GoPro. Fingers crossed it will work and turn out nice. Until then I hope you'll enjoy the video of Port Charlotte.

Sharing and discussing. Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
