Friday Islay picture #314 - Saligo Bay scene

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

Yay, Friday evening, after a tiring week for various reasons. A wee dram of Islay single malt (this evening's selection includes Bruichladdich and Laphroaig) in my glass and Franz Ferdinand's fantastic song ‘Bullet’ pounding on the headphones, weekend has begun. Which of course also means I need to post a Friday Islay picture. Here we go, a sea view on the west coast of Islay:

This was in Saligo Bay in June 2013. The day had been fairly grey and dull. After a (very nice) distillery tour at Laphroaig we took a detour to Saligo Bay on our way back to the cottage at Kilchoman on a hunch. Soon after we arrived at the dunes the clouds broke up for a short time, providing some nice mild light before closing up again. This picture was taken towards the end of it, worth the detour I think (together with some of the pictures we took that afternoon).

On that note (sometimes it's worth trusting your hunches) I'm signing off for this evening, good night and have a great weekend.

Sharing and discussing. Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
