Ileach Newspaper of the Year?
Just read in the Bruichladdich Blog that The Ileach, Islay's independent newspaper, has been voted best community newspaper of the year. I haven't found any further sources yet, but congratulations to Carl Reavey and the team anyway!
I have a print subscription of The Ileach, which usually arrives down here in England the Tuesday after it was published. It's always nice to sit down and read the news from Islay. I know Carl from when he was running the Port Charlotte Hotel, he also gave me and my sister a tour of their offices and printing facilities on a rainy day in 2004. It probably won't have changed much, it's amazing what they can produce in those tiny facilities and with limited resources!
I'm looking forward to the next edition, if I find further reporting about the award I'll post an update.
