Ardbeg 1965 Revisited
While it wasn't the most expensive Islay Single Malt Whisky ever, the Ardbeg 1965 certainly created quite a stir when I was released seven months ago. I believe all the 261 bottles have been sold by now, at least you can not order any on the Ardbeg Shop website any more. So why mention it again?
Simple: Patrick Collister thinks the campaign for it is one of the best direct marketing campaigns: Whisky’s a shot in the arm for marketing. Probably some truth in it, also considering that the vast majority of people won't be able to afford a £2,000 bottle of Islay Single Malt, but a £27 bottle might well be within their reach.
