Good Morning From Islay

Picture of the early morning sun over the River Sorn

Wow, it's so nice being able to write this: Good morning from Islay. I've had a wonderful first night on Islay, very quiet and relaxing. This might sound strange, but it was nice to be woken up by my alarm this morning. As opposed to noise outside, it's almost eerily quiet if you're used to the noise of a town with a motorway close by. Went for a nice run in Bridgend Woods this morning, very beautiful. Quiet, just the sound of birds singing and the water running down the river.

Already had a visitor this morning: There's a wee bird, wanting to come in. He sits on the balcony, then flies against the window. Don't know what type it is, it's small and yellow (well, mostly yellow). I've tried to take a picture, but it's elusive. I'll try again during the week.

Time to get ready for the first walk, it looks like we're going to get a glorious day. Leaving from Ballygrant in an hour, so I better hurry...
