Islay Travelogue and Panorama Updates

Picture of a view over ruins looking out to a small island (Finlaggan)

Ooops, missed an entry yesterday. Nothing to worry about though, I was just too busy to write a post, catching up today with two Islay pictures. The reason I was busy was that I was working on finalising a page for the Scotland Summer 2006 travelogue and then working on a number of Islay panoramas. The first results are now online:

For the Scotland Summer 2006 travelogue I completed another page from my stay on Islay: Finlaggan, Caol Ila and The Strand, Islay. A whirlwind tour visiting a number of places on Islay on a nice afternoon.

The panoramas took a bit longer than expected, but I'm quite pleased with the results. The first I've added to the Islay 180° panoramas is a 180° Quicktime VR panorama of the southern shore of the Sound of Islay, taking in the stretch from McArthur's Head to An Cladach:

I'm quite pleased with how this panorama has turned out, considering it was taken from the moving ferry. There's one small slightly blurry area where the stitching didn't really work, but the rest is fine. Took me several attempts over the years, this one has finally worked. I'm working on another one at the moment, looking back from the ferry to Islay and Jura. More about that later.
