Walks and Views on the Isle of Jura
The wee dram of Laphroaig Quarter Cask Islay Single Malt is standing next to the laptop, I also have some Scottish raspberries and some chocolate waiting for me. Call it rewards for a busy weekend if you want. But back to the topic of this entry: Islay's northerly neighbour, the Isle of Jura, has many beautiful walks and views to offer. Some I covered yesterday with the views during the Sound of Islay Walk. I have quite a lot more today with two further panoramas and another walk on the Isle of Jura.
Let me start with the walk: I've just finished the Islay Walking Week 2007 travelogue page for the Corra Bheinn and the Paps Walk on the Isle of Jura. A fairly grey and wet start, but brilliant sunshine later during the walk. During the walk we had some fantastic views, for example this one:
As they needed a home I've just started a 180° Quicktime VR Panoramas from the Isle of Jura page. There are two panoramas so far:
- The preview above is of the Loch an t-Siob and the three Paps of Jura panorama, one of my favourite views of Jura so far.
- The second panorama gives a View North between the Paps of Jura, Isle of Jura. Looking over Glen Batrick and Loch Tarbert from 450m above sea level.
There will be more panoramas over time, not sure yet which and when. But rest assured, there will be more.
And with that I'm going to finish my whisky and then I'm off to bed. More tomorrow. May be some Springwatch, may be some Islay visitor blogging, may be some Islay music. We'll see.
