Flying to the Isle of Jura
In the earlier entry about Islay, Jura, Colonsay and Gigha from the Air I mentioned that the Isle of Jura doesn't have an airport as such but to my knowledge at least an emergency airstrip somewhere. Watching a video of a microlight flight to Jura has now reminded me where it is and helped me identifing it on the map:
Colin Haste flew to Jura (as well as Gigha and Bute) and during his flight landed at the airstrip on Jura. It is right next to the beach of Tràigh na Mile at the northern end of Loch na mile. Access from the road to Knockrome.
In the second part you can see them walking around the airfield at Jura and then leaving for Gigha and Bute. Fantastic views in both videos!
