Viking Ship Islay Visit Update
With the Havhingsten/ Sea Stallion soon leaving Islay I thought I post a quick update to my Viking Ship visits Islay entry from Monday. They stayed on Islay for a few days (mainly in the Port Ellen and Lagavulin area, I believe), meaning there are a few updates to mention:
- In the comments to the first entry Morten Lundsteen points out the Havhingsten forside site, which includes a Satellit-kort (satellite map, updated hourly with the latest position) and a Moblog where some crewmember seem to be posting updates. The site seems to be by DR, which I believe is the Danish equivalent of the BBC here in the UK.
- Speaking of the BBC, the BBC - History - Viking Ship Voyage now has a few updates including some videos: 30 July: Ticked off, 31 July: More testing times, 1 August: A welcome break and 2 August: Rowing and relaxing.
- The RTE pages have now seen some updates, there are now new entries on the Seafarer's Log and on the Video page.
With Ireland visible from Islay on a clear day they will be keen to leave soon for the last leg of their journey and to arrive in Dublin as planned. I hope they enjoyed their stay on Islay and will have good onward journey!
