First Yacht Visitor to Islay

It might still not feel like it, but spring can't be far off now. Reading the Islay Birds blog there are first sightings of birds returning to Islay and other signs of spring almost every day. Yesterday I promised the picture of another first sighting on Islay for the year. Here it is, the first visiting yacht at Port Ellen Marina on Islay for this year:

The Fair Maid arrived in Port Ellen around 17:00 hrs (5pm) yesterday, the first yacht in the marina for this season I understand. The RIB on the other side is the Shannick of Islay Sea Safari, she is at home here and therefore doesn't count for this purpose.

I really hope this means spring is really on its way now, also considering that I've just realised that there are only just over two weeks left until WalkIslay 2008. I'll be there, for those interested in some detail I wrote about the Islay Walking Week WalkIslay 2008 Programme a few weeks ago. And with that thought I say good night for today.
