Islay Airport Approaches

While I'm trying to make up my mind what to make of the panic around the new Islay ferry, Port Ellen and Port Askaig piers I'm going to show you something different yet related in the meantime. Arriving on Islay by plane. I'm fascinated by seeing things from high up, be it on a plane or just high up on a hill or even a tall building. I haven't flown to Islay yet (and don't expect to in the foreseeable future), so I've got to rely on videos like these:

The approach to Islay begins at about 2:25min, there's a very short glimpse of Port Ellen at 2:42min (The Port Ellen maltings and the distillery warehouses). From about 3:00 you get to see the approach over Laggan Bay towards the Big Strand and then the landing on the runway at 5:15min. Now this isn't the same plane, but here's a view of it from the other side:

I think that's enough planes for tonight. And unfortunately all I have time for in regards to Islay blogging this evening, as something more mundane is calling for my attention. It's called laundry.
