Westering Home at Islay Visitor Welcome Evening

Many people with an interest in Islay will know this song, regular readers of this blog might remember that I've posted a version of it earlier this year. The song in question is ‘Westering Home (to Islay)’, a song performed by many artists including the Corries. During the Islay Visitors Welcome Evening last week (attended by many walkers participating in the WalkIslay 2009 Islay walking week) I was able to record this version performed by Norma Munro and guests:

Norma was joined by another guitarist (unfortunately I don't remember his name, if you know please leave it in the comments) and in particular most of the visitors, creating a great atmosphere in the room. The video is only a poor substitute to experiencing it yourself, if you get a chance to hear it live I highly recommend taking it.

In case you're now interested in hearing more from Norma: As mentioned in the Two Quick Islay Links entry, Norma's CDs are available through the Islay Ales eBay shop. On Islay you should find them in many places, including the Islay Ales brewery and after any Islay visitor welcome evenings she's playing at.
