Two Quick Islay Links

Islay News in stencil

Got a bit sidetracked today catching up on a number of things, like getting the car serviced and some personal admin. So I'm running rather late with today's Islay blog entry. Still I wanted to bring two Islay related links to your attention I came across today, here they are:

To start with there's Louise Jury's report of a visit to Islay, Jura and Gigha, Remote access of the Inner Hebrides. It seems she and her family were rather unlucky with the weather while on Islay, still they vowed to come back.

Many will have read the predictions by the AA that petrol prices could hit a record average high of £1.20 a litre soon. That won't be news on Islay, where they have already hit that price. Keeping in mind that the £1.20 is the average drivers on Islay probably don't want to know what that will mean for them. Susan Campbell, one of the editors of The Ileach, writes up some thoughts in Islay leaves the AA’s fuel price predictions standing in a guest entry on the For Argyll website.

That's all for today.
