Bruichladdich Islay Gin in the Making?
Does this go under Islay Whisky News or just Islay News? Well, the topic isn't really whisky, even though we are talking about an Islay distillery, so I've decided to go with just Islay news. Some people were convinced it was an April fools when Mark Reynier wrote about the Gin Genie on the, you guessed it, first of April. There's certainly more to the story:
Already back in April I doubted that this was an April fools joke and today I spotted an interesting tweet on the Bruich_Sales account:
I wonder what Gin McEwan...oops I mean JIM McEwan is distilling in Ugly Betty this w'end? I think the 1st time for this spirit on Islay...;)
Sounds like a only mildly disguised hint that the time has come for Jim to turn the words into action…
It's not really been a secret either, if you dig around you find a few places on the web mentioning the gin plans, like these notes from a master class or the entry Bruichladdich macht nun auch Gin… (Bruichladdich now also makes Gin…) on a German whisky forum.
Certainly worth following if and what is going to happen here on Islay this weekend:
