Friday Islay Picture #167 - The American Monument on The Oa
The last weekend in September has arrived. In a week October is here. For me one of the landmarks that autumn has come, the first weekend of October. We still have a week to go though, so the Friday Islay picture I've picked today is still a summer picture. Even though it didn't necessarily look like it when I took it on a rather breezy day in July 2002:
This is a view of the American Monument on The Oa, looking south from the cliffs to the north of the monument. I'm not sure from where exactly I took this picture, judging from the cliffs and the distance I think probably somewhere in the Rubha Leacan Bànaig area. Some of the best cliffs on The Oa I think can be found here.
As usual I will post the larger, more than twice as big, version on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning. Until then it's time for another wee dram of what I also tasted yesterday and a good night's sleep. Good night!
