Sailing around Islay and Jura with Therica
OK, OK, this is probably not really the time of year to go sailing (at least not in Scottish waters), but in a few months time it should be nice enough for an outing. Until then let's watch a few videos to see how it is like to sail around Islay and Jura. We can do this on board the ‘Therica’, a Swedish yacht who sailed in the area in 2009:
YouTube: Therica leaving Port Ellen
My Swedish isn't good enough to understand what they are saying, but I think this was filmed during the Classic Malts cruise, somewhere near Lagavulin. The other video seems to have been filmed on the way south from Oban to Islay, passing either through the Gulf of Corrvreckan or somewhere between Scarba and Luing (I think):
Again my Swedish isn't good enough to fully understand what they are saying, I think they are comparing speed (in knots) through the water to speed over ground. Any Swedish speakers reading this feel free to correct and/or add as necessary.
