Friday Islay Picture #183 - Lighthouse and Ferry
After a rather long and tiring week the weekend has finally arrived. Just poured myself a not so wee dram of the Bruichladdich Octomore Futures. Before I move to this week's Friday Islay picture a quick update on yesterday's Islay.com doesn't sell entry: Clemens has been in contact and informed me that he has now sold Islay.com and that the buyer would be revealed over the next few days. After that bombshell on to this week's iconic Islay picture of McArthur's Head lighthouse and the Islay ferry:
McArthur's Head lighthouse I think probably has the most dramatic setting of all the lighthouses on Islay. High on the cliffs above the Sound of Islay the views down the sound and over to Jura are quite impressive, at least on a sunny and clear day. When I took this picture a few years ago the weather was quite changeable with the sun occasionally breaking through the clouds. Here the lighthouse and ferry are illuminated by the sun while Jura is fairly grey and dull.
As usual I will post the larger version (as in more than twice as big) on the Islay Pictures photoblog on Saturday morning. Good night and have a great weekend!
