Paula Davidson, Islay Dancer
Deciding on the title for this entry was a bit of a struggle. I briefly thought about writing ‘Paula Davidson, Islay Belly-Dancer’, but in a way that felt wrong. Simply because there's more to it than just belly-dancing:
While I was on Islay in June Paula sent me an e-mail with the link to her website: Paula Davidson - Passion, Motion, Dance.
Unfortunately that was while I was ill and had limited internet access, to put it mildly. Therefore I couldn't really check out her website back then and couldn't get in touch to meet up with her to learn more either. Upon my return home I for various reasons didn't get around to look at her site in detail either. Today I finally got my act together and had a good look around.
This is where we get back to the question of the title: While Paula does belly dancing she does it with a twist, mixing it with traditional Scottish music. Her gallery shows several pictures of her in action at Bruichladdich and Ardbeg. I hope she's going to add video at some point, which I expect would illustrate it even better.
In any case, you can read more about her and get in contact with her on her website Paula Davidson - Passion, Motion, Dance (yes, that's the one I mentioned above. Thought I mention it again).
