Andrew Jackson's Islay Pictures
Just over four months ago Andrew Jackson and his family moved to Islay to take over The Bowmore House Bed & Breakfast. Regular readers might remember reading about it in the Friday Islay Picture #201 - The Bowmore House entry, Ron also wrote about it in New Owners for The Bowmore House B&B Islay. Having settled in Andrew is posting more and more pictures online:
While he is a fan of Instagram this is an Apple only offering and while individual pictures are available on the web it seems to be impossible to view all pictures in an account (at least I haven't found anything). However, luckily for the rest of us he's also created a flickr account where he is posting the pictures, the account in question is The Bowmore House's photostream. That's where among others you'll find the sunset from the screenshot above.
You can find the sunsets from above by looking at the pictures from the 19th of November 2011. Other pictures I liked were A log fire is needed on a night like tonight on Islay!, the the Port Ellen bottle taken back to the distillery, sunrise at Lagavulin and Andrew's walk home from taking his girls to school. I'm sure you'll find something else you'll like.
I don't know if there are any vacancies for Christmas, but even until then you can admire The Bowmore House Christmas Tree. Unfortunately I've run out of holidays, otherwise I would seriously consider taking up the Winter Special currently offered on the Bowmore House website, 2 or more nights for £45pppn B&B (£60pppn dinner B&B). I've checked with Andrew, the offer is valid until the end of February 2011 if you fancy a winter break on Islay. If you're lucky you might get a sunset like the one above…
