New Islay Video: On the Beach in Machir Bay

Islay on Video written in stencil

Last night I mentioned I had just finished my latest Islay video, I only had to upload it to YouTube. Good news, that part is also done now and I can present you my latest creation. It is my first video with the GoPro HD HERO2 I bought earlier this year. For its first outing (after all that's what it's there for, outdoors) I took it to the beach in Machir Bay:

The video was mainly shot two ways: Either with a head harness holding the camera at the top of my forehead for the parts where I move around or using a cheap small tripod pushed into the sand including out in the water. As the camera housing is waterproof I didn't have to worry about the waves washing over it, I even at times tried filming something under water (unfortunately with limited success, although one scene makes it into the final video).

I hope you've enjoyed the video, I'm hoping to shoot more videos like this when I'm on Islay again soon. Not sure yet what and where, I'll probably just improvise when I'm there. One thing I'm hoping to do is to get close or even under a waterfall (provided there's enough water…). Feel free to let me know of anything you'd like me to film and I'll see what I can do. No promises when it will be online though.
