Peregrine Falcon vs Raven (I think) on Islay
Following on from the Barnacle Geese on Tuesday a few more Islay bird pictures, hoping that I got the identification right. I believe they are a Peregrine Falcon and a Raven. Unfortunately the light wasn't great, so the pictures are of low quality. Still decided to share the best I could get from them:
I watched these two at the Kilchoman Crags on Friday afternoon from the lounge of the cottage at Kilchoman House Cottages. They were having a mid air tussle, not sure who was harrassing who, but they didn't seem to get along well…
They were at it for a good 10-15 minutes (my first and last picture were 10 minutes apart and I had to change lens before I could take pictures. As usual the wrong lens was on the camera at the time I first spotted them…). Not sure who won in the end.
I hope you found the pictures interesting, I certainly enjoyed the show the two put up. And now over to those of you better in bird identification than me (which shouldn't be too difficult), did I get it right? Are they a Peregrine and a Raven? Comments and thoughts appreciated.
