Islay Blogging Roundup #293

Islay Blogging Roundup in stencil

As quick as it came the weekend is already over. Didn't get out much this weekend (at least not for photography), partly because of the weather (some very heavy showers yesterday), partly because I was busy catching up on a variety of other things. As usual to end the weekend a look back at the Islay mentions in the blogs this week, the Islay blogging roundup:

Let me start with the Islay whisky this week, where drikkelig.no has a few including Bunnahabhain 1974 35 år The Whisky Fair 47,3 %, Bunnahabhain Darach Ùr (batch 9) 46,3 % and Bunnahabhain 1976 Noorbohandelen #6505 43 %. The Bruichladdich news blog announces the Feis Ile 2014 - Octomore Discovery. Gastronomista shares the recipe for an Ardbeg Ice Cream.

From the whisky on to the (distillery) visits: Sam Davies from New York writes about the Secret of Islay. Laura unfortunately was a bit disappointed with some aspects of her visit as she writes in Islay a bet you couldnae eat it either, I hope Islay's restaurants will do better next time, I know they can. Philippa Mitchell posts an Update from her Islay visit and exhibition. Jade from Australia wasn't Drunk before Lunch after being Islay Bound.

The Islay and Jura Timebank blog announces Summer is almost here while the Islay History blog unearthed a very interesting story in Rescued from the Sea 1853. Ron points out the new Destination Portnahaven - Visit South-West Islay flyer. If you plan to participate in the Islay triathlon, the date is set for 2014

For the wildlife and birdwatching the Islay Birds blog has a picture of a special Greenland White Fronted Goose, another picture of an adult Iceland Gull and Michal's sightings. Similar the RSPB Islay blog has pictures of White wingers, a splash of colour and Tiger, tiger burning bright in the grasslands of the Oa.

To finish as usual the pictures: ruagaire shares in the wood in the rain … Ron has Ardtalla beach and a sunny Portnahaven. James Collett has some brilliant shots again in Ardnahoe Loch, Islay at Sunset 2.0. From my own Islay Pictures photoblog I've picked Machir Bay from the Kilchoman Crags, the April sunset over the Atlantic and Carraig Fhada lighthouse along the rocky shore, Isle of Islay.

That's it for this week, back again next Sunday. Good night!

Sharing and discussing. Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
