End of July Islay links

Islay Links in stencil

In a way I'm an old-fashioned blogger. I like to share links, pictures and videos I've come across during my travels around the web. So let's do it again for the end of July, a few Islay related links I've come across the last few days (and weeks):

If you are a GP who needs a change there's a great opportunity on Islay: RuralGP has a post Vacancy: Islay – Salaried GP with a lot of information about the position.

I spotted him on Twitter recently mentioning his excitement about moving to Islay, the Edinburgh Evening News has more with Muirfield greenkeeper Muir set for island life. Also check out @deanamuir and @Machrie_Golf on Twitter.

A couple of years ago I enjoyed a great evening with James Knox-Whittet and Islay poetry and music in Bowmore. I believe the ‘Voices and Images of Islay’ exhibition described in Margaret moved by the isle of Islay is closely related. Well worth visiting if you're near Cambo Estate between 3-10 August 2014.

A bit of Islay whisky and visits: FIELD TRIP #606 | On Drams Of Ardbeg And Drinking Songs On The Scottish Isle Of Islay.

One of the reasons I changed providers last year, Vodafone doesn't seem to care much about Islay (or rural areas in general, their signal in Aldermaston Wharf, less than 10 miles from their HQ in Newbury, is essentially useless as well): Islanders without signals for weeks.

Something I should have mentioned in an Islay blogging roundup, but due to the long interuption with my injury didn't: The Giants Crossing: Islay Skull Trophy

And that's it for today. More next month!

Sharing and discussing. Opening up the discussion. Have your say:
