Michael's amazing Islay from the air pictures

Islay Pictures in stencil

As regular readers will be well aware I'm a sucker for pictures (and videos) taken from the air, in particular if they're of Islay. Recently I came across some fantastic and in a way unusual pictures. Michael Stalker flies a microlight and on a recent trip also flew past Islay, where he took some brilliant pictures like this one:

That is the north coast of Islay around Bholsa, the round(ish) hill in the distance is Mala Bholsa, the caves are at the beach bottom right. Then there's this brilliant view of Rhuvaal lighthouse:

And the last one I picked out is this unusual view of Dunlossit and Port Askaig, the MV Hebridean Isles just arriving:

Other great pictures include this amazing view of the Sound of Islay, Caol Ila distillery and Bunnahabhain distillery.

For more pictures from the trip, including more from Islay, Jura, Gigha and Colonsay, please go to Microlight - Staffa August 2014. Also the pictures above are more a preview, make sure you click through to the originals to see them in full size. Trust me, it will be worth it.

Thanks to Michael for sharing his pictures!
