Port Ellen War Memorial, Islay
After the picture of the Port Ellen distillery warehouses another picture I took on the day of my arrival on Islay in August 2006. This is an impression of the Port Ellen War Memorial, standing near the ferry terminal.
Fairly difficult to take a nice picture of, as there's a lot of ‘harbour gear’ in various stages of decay in the vicinity. Looking up is probably one of the best options, makes it look taller than it actually is though.
One of the reasons for posting this picture is that I'm still sifting through the pictures for the Scotland Summer 2006 travelogue. It might make it into the travelogue as well, it might not. I hope to make some progress with it this weekend, I'll probably post an update latest on Sunday.
