Islay Bushcraft Course on Texa

Jeremy Hastings not only runs Islay Birding (and receives awards for it), he also runs bushcraft courses on Islay and other islands. For some of the courses he goes to the area around Bholsa and Rhuvaal, sleeping in the caves at Bholsa. For another course he recently went to Texa at the south coast of Islay:

Texa is a small uninhabited island just south of Laphroaig. There are ruins of a chapel on Texa, which also has its own fresh water supply (not to forget some wild goats). In other words, a great place for bushcraft courses.

Dave went on a course run on Texa run by Bearclaw Bushcraft, Jeremy Hastings and Donald James MacPhee. You can read an excerpt from his review of the Fasach Ile course and also see a few pictures. Looks like he had a great time.

While the idea of sleeping under the stars for a night is appealing I'm not sure I'd personally go for the whole week. But I'm sure others might find his review and the course interesting.
