Friday Islay Picture #135 - The Tower

Friday Islay Picture in stencil

Phew, that's a rather busy week at the office finally over. It was a good week though. Anyway, now it's time to relax a bit, just poured myself a well deserved wee dram of the Laphroaig Triple Wood Islay single malt. For this week's Friday Islay picture I've picked a topical picture, I wonder how many of you will guess why before reading on?

Picture of a stone tower

It's one of the rare portrait format pictures I've used for the Friday Islay picture, but with a tower as it's subject it's an obvious format. Many people will know this tower, it stands in the grounds of Islay House at Bridgend. Those who paid attention over the last few days (or even last year) will also recognise it as one of the locations (and the namesake) of Islay High School's FilmG entry, called An Tùr (The Tower). However, if you thought this is just another reminder to vote for it you'd be wrong, as the voting has now closed. No, there is another reason, some great news have come through today:

An Tùr (The Tower) has been included in the Young People Shortlist in the Best Production Shortlist category. Congratulations!

With that I wish you a great weekend, I'm sure those involved in the film will have a very happy but may be also slightly nervous weekend. Will it go all the way now?
