Road Traffic Collision Event on Islay

Islay Events written in stencil

Most of us try to push away the thought of an accident as far as possible, many people think ‘it won't happen to me’ and take risks they probably shouldn't. Yet accidents do happen. An upcoming event on Islay is designed to highlight the consequences of careless/dangerous driving and the resources required to deal with a serious road traffic collision (RTC):

The event will take place on 01/June/2011 at Islay Square in Bowmore, starting at 17:00. It will show a simulated car crash with multiple casualties and demonstrate how all the different emergency services work together to help the victims. There will be a running commentary of what is happening during the event and members of each agency will be available to answer questions.

Joe Hughes, Paramedic Team Leader Islay & Jura, is coordinating the event, he can be reached at 01496-810512 for any questions. Joe contacted me yesterday asking if I can help to publicise the event, more than happy to do so.
